For your poet project, you will read and research a poet of your choice and produce a multi-media presentation about the poet and his or her work. Your presentation will be an Adobe Spark video.
The poet must be published with a substantial body of serious work. It may not be Dr. Seuss or Shel Silverstein. All poets must be approved by Dr. Manzulli.
While this is a research-based project, the aim here is to immerse yourself in this poet’s voice and to share with us your own sense of who this poet is and your own response to his or her work.
Things to ask:
Who is this poet?
Where does he/she come from and does that influence the poetry?
What are the distinguishing qualities of his or her work?
What are his/her best known poems?
What are your favorites?
Required elements:
That your presentation is grounded in a close reading of a specific poem or poems that is representative of this poet’s work.
That you include images, words, and even audio to convey something essential about the poetry.
One original poem in response to some aspect of this poet’s work or life.
You must include a Works Cited list in MLA format.
The library offers several databases in which you can find lots of information about your poets and their work. There are also some great web sources. Be sure to also check for "official" websites for your poet.

Adobe Spark is a free online presentation tool which allows you to make high-quality videos, pages, and posts. For this project, you will be using the video feature. First, you will need to make an account:
1. Begin by choosing the Video option
2. Create a name for your project. At this stage, I suggest using the name of your poet. You can edit any information later.
3. Adobe offers several templates that you may use. However, the "Make up my own" offers the most flexibility.
4. Add photos, text, music, etc. You can easily add/delete/reorder slides at any time and edit your theme.
