From September 15 to October 15, National Hispanic Heritage Month celebrates the histories, cultures and contributions of Hispanic and Latinx people. The first day of Hispanic Heritage Month, September 15, marks the anniversary of independence of five Latin American countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. Mexico and Chile also celebrate their independence during Hispanic Heritage Month, on September 16 and 18, respectively.
