For this assignment, you will research an industrial designer. The product of your research will be an in-class presentation on who your designer is and why their work is important, as well as how they used the Design Thinking Process in their work.
Defining your designer's thinking process consists of these 5 steps:
1. How did they empathize?
2. How would you define them?
3. How did they ideate?
4. How did they prototype?
5. How did they test?
See your assignment guidelines on Schoology for more detail.

ADDITIONAL RESOURCES
Depending on your designer, you may find a lot of information online (but make sure you are using valid sources!). Try searching for interviews, museum exhibits, design studios, professional organzations, etc. Use strategic searching to find the most relevant results.
You will likely need outside sources for your research: official websites for museums, companies, institutes, etc., as well as resources such as Google Books. It is important to evaluate these sources before you decide to include them in your research, however. Keep these important aspects in mind:
Use the checklist below to help guide you while looking at sources.
Be sure to cite your sources! Our library databases make it easy for you to copy and paste citations. However, you will have to format them yourself if you are using websites, books, or other resources. The Online Writing Lab at Purdue is a great resource for formatting your Works Cited. You can also use NoodleTools. See Ms. Matlack if you have any questions or need additional help with your sources.
