Message from Librarians

The library subscribes to online resources with historical and current content for all disciplines. This Libguide organizes the content by general discipline. Please reach out to your librarians at any point for us to help either make a specific Ligbguide for you, or to support research and inquiry, or for help in using any of the sources.  As we create the Libguides we will put the specific username and passwords on them.   Then you can post the link on your schoology page.

What is a Libguide?  A Libguide is a webpage with links to resources created specifically for students and teachers for a particular project, unit or topic.

Here are some advantages of using Libguides:

  • They are live, so can be updated continually
  • Links can be posted on Schoology
  • You can send docs, project descriptions, links etc for librarians to put on the Libguide
  • Librarians can curate information specifically for your lessons or topics
  • Students can easily access all information in one place for a project

TEACHER SITES FOR RESOURCES

Think “flipped classroom” model. Send students resources such as texts, videos, podcasts, etc., to provide background knowledge that they can apply in subsequent learning activities like group or one-on-one discussions. Explore education websites like Khan AcademyTeacherTubeNewselaBrainPopSmithsonian Learning Lab. Additional resources can be found on Open Culture.

  • Example: Students will listen to a podcast on the Industrial Revolution, then engage in a peer debate representing opposing sides of an argument.
