Create a Bibliography

 

1. OPEN a GOOGLE DOC and name it BIBLIOGRAPHY. Type "Works Cited" at the top.  

2. Copy and Paste the citation from an esubscription into your bibliography.

OR

3. CREATE a citation in mybib.com and copy and paste it from there.  Watch demonstration.  Use mybib.com FOR WEBSITES, YOUTUBE AND OTHER VIDEOS, BOOKS, OR ANYTHING OTHER source, except esubscriptions, which have their own citations ready to copy and paste.

1. Search Words: Be sure to try different words, phrases, names of people and/or places in your search, especially  if you cannot find information with your firsttopic word.  Be patient - try broader or narrower topic words combined with others:

Sophia Hagia

2. Notice how the source is organized - are you looking in a database of article or an ebooks?

Bibliography or Works Cited

Here is a link to easybib online, which shows examples of MLA bibliography formats.

You typically need author; title, date, place and publisher.  You do not need the url, but need to wrote Web or Print at the end of the citation.

Look for books, websites, etc...

BOOK:  How to Cite...

Author, Title of Book, City: Publisher, Year of Publication.

Beckford, Amy.  The Great Barbarian Tribes.  Princeton: Author, 2014. 

IMAGE:  How to Cite....Try to find as much information as you can.

This is what you need:

Artist's name, the work of art italicized, the date of creation, the institutions and city where it is housed. Then follow with the name of the website in Italics, either Web or Print,  and the date of access. 

This is an example:

Klee, Paul.  The Twittering Machine.  1922. Museum of Modern Art, New York. The Artchive. Web.  11 Nov. 2015. 

WEBSITE  How to cite:

This is what you need:

Last name, First name. "Article Title." Website Title. Publisher of Website, Day Month Year article was published. Web. Day Month Year article was accessed. <URL>.

This is an example:

Cain, Kevin. "The Negative Effects of Facebook on Communication." Social Media Today RSS N.p., 29 June 2012. Web. 02 Jan. 2013.

WORKS CITED PAGE:

1. Open a Pages Document

2. Put Works Cited at the top of the page.

3. Copy and paste your citations onto this page documents.

4. Organize your citations in alphabetical order by last name of author, or if not author, then by the first significant work in the title. NOT The, for example.

5. Follow this format on this page:
