To Limit Searches in Ebscohost:

Go to Ebscohost Database Link

Choose Ebscohost Web, then select Middle Search Plus, MastefileElite, click Continue

Type in search words such a gold element, then press return

NOTICE LIMITERS on left of search page...

LImit by full text, and date of last ten years, then update search

 

 

Google Searches can be limited by domain as well....simply put in the web address then cite:edu

Research Strategies for Ebscohost - Use for Current Information

 

1. Make a list of search words for your element/topic. Think about your question to formulate the words...

2. Choose Ebscohost Web. Then Select the databases  Masterfile and Middle Search.

3. Search with the search terms you thought of, then notice other headings that might be helpful. Note them to search for more info...

4. Limit the search to FULL TEXT

5. Limit  the search to the dates your need, preferable the LAST 10 YEARS.  You may also sort the articles by date. Exception is doing a historic topic, then it is not as important.

6. Be sure to copy and paste the citation into your bibliography

How to Make a Bibliography

1. First, create a pages document called Bibliography Elements Project on your IPad. This is your Works Cited page.  Click Here For SAMPLE BIBLIOGRAPHY also known as a Works Cited Page.  The Bibliography citations need to be in alphabetical order by the first word in the citation.

2. Copy and paste any citations from the esubscription sources.

3. Creating your own citations for books, websites etc. Go to www.easybib.com. This is a citation generator, and will help you make the citation. Choose webiste or book or whatever format you want to cite.   Fill in all the information you can find.  When you click cite, then copy and paste the citation into your Bibliography Elements Page.  

Citing a Web Site:  It is a good idea to list your date of access because web postings are often updated, and information available on one date may no longer be available later. When using the URL, be sure to include the complete address for the site except for the https://.

Editor, author, or compiler name (if available). Name of Site. Version number, Name of institution/organization affiliated with the site (sponsor or publisher), date of resource creation (if available), URL,Date of access (if applicable).
